The Automotive Recyclers Association of New York was well represented at our state’s capital in Albany NY on Tuesday, May 14th.  Members from around the state attended to make sure our voice was heard and to advocate for the wonderful industry that serves us all. The ARANY is always working hard to improve business conditions for its members and help auto recyclers sell more of their own parts. The focus was meeting with legislators to discuss changes in New York airbag legislation.

ARANY strongly supports legislation that amends the vehicle and traffic laws to give professional automotive recyclers in the state of New York the ability to sell recycled non-deployed original equipment manufactured airbags.  The enactment of this legislation would put New York in line with 49 other states that currently allow the utilization of recycled non-deployed OEM airbags for vehicle repairs.   The use of non-deployed and properly installed recycled OEM airbags is a viable, economical, and safe alternative to the use of new OEM airbags, which are prohibitively more expensive.  Properly installed non-deployed recycled OEM airbags are vital competitive alternatives for consumers and help prevent a vehicle from being prematurely declared a Total Loss due to the high cost of airbag repair.  In addition, many vehicle manufacturers stop producing replacement pars a few years after a new model year is released and new airbags may not be available, making recycled non-deployed OEM airbags a valuable solution.

Bill Tolpa receives the 2023 Community and Civic Leadership Award 2023 (2/26/2024)

Bill Tolpa was recognized last weekend for helping with training to his local first responders.  He received the 2023 Coummunity and Civic Leadership Award hosted by the Barneveld Fire Department.  Bill and Tolpas Auto Parts have been helping his local fire departments and other first responders for many years now.  He opens up his facility for Firefighting one classes, extrication classes and also K-9 training and so much more. Bill was very appreciative to sayt the least as he said, “We have been doing this for many of years, and it is the right thing to do. These guys and girls volunteer there time and efforts to help save lives as first responders.”  Thank you Bill for your outstanding dedication to your community and so much more!!

 Members and supporters of the Automotive Recyclers Association of New York, as well as members of the professional automotive recycling industry in the northeast of the US will once again present a NY veteran with a vehicle donated by members of the professional automotive recycling industry in conjunction with the Annual ARNE Summit & Expo 2024 being held at Turning Stone Casino, September 13-14, 2023.
